3 Places On Facebook To Share Content That Attracts Your Ideal Clients

I had a great question from a client today who asked what content she should share on her Facebook Page v’s her Facebook Group.

Should you share every post you create in both places?  Are there more places on Facebook you can share your content than just your Page or your Group?

The answer to the second question is a massive Yes!

Think of Facebook like a hotel with lots of different rooms.  Each of those ‘rooms’ offer many opportunities for you to share your content, attract your Ideal Clients and make more sales.

In this article I want to talk about 3 of the biggest ‘rooms’ on Facebook and what content you need to be sharing on each to grow your Coaching business:

  • Facebook Page
  • Facebook Group
  • Facebook Profile

As we talk about these ‘rooms’ on Facebook, I’ll also share with you what content you need to be creating and posting in each room so you know what content to share on your Page v’s Group & your Personal Profile!

Do You Really Need A Facebook Page?

It used to be that this way THE place to be on Facebook as an online business owner.

It was where you could connect and engage with your audience, people who had put their hands up and Liked your Page because they were interested in what you do and how you can help them.

Now we all know that Facebook made some serious changes a few years ago, and your Page became a ‘pay to play’ platform - meaning that if you didn’t pay for Facebook Ads, your content wouldn’t get seen.

These days you need to think of your Facebook Page more like an extension of your website.  It’s the front of your business on social media.

I strongly believe that you do need a Facebook Page that is kept current, up to date and when potential clients visit your Page, they see that you are an active business.

Just think…

What would your first reaction be to a Page that hadn’t posted for 3 months, 6 months or a year?

  • Would you trust them with your hard earned cash?
  • Would you even know if they were still an active and current business?
  • Have they gone out of business?

You’ll also want to share content on your Facebook Page so that when people see any Ads you may run in the future and click through to check out your Page, you have fresh, relevant content available.

So yes, I firmly believe that you DO need a Facebook Page and should be active on there at least 2-3 times per week.

What Content Should I Share On My Facebook Page?

So the question then becomes, “What content do I post on my Facebook Page?”...

On my Page, The Marketing & Mindset Coach, I like to share inspirational tips, quotes and graphics.  I also share my products, free gifts, events, lead magnets and of course sell my offers!

Remember, unless you are a massive business or a super influencer, you probably won't get much engagement on these posts and not many people will see them (due to the algorithm).

BUT...

This doesn’t mean that you should ignore your Page - for all the reasons I mentioned above!

There are plenty of other places or ‘rooms’ on Facebook where you CAN get that interaction, reach & engagement!

Let’s talk about one of the most popular and the easiest way to build your brand on Facebook next…

And you guessed it - it’s your Facebook Group!

Do I Need A Facebook Group?

YES, YES, YES!!!

Can you tell I’m a fan?!

When I started my coaching business, I did four things:

  1. Built my website (just a couple of pages to start with!)
  2. Created my FB Page
  3. Created my FB Group
  4. Started my email list

I made my first 5 figures from just my Facebook Group alone!

Here are just some of the benefits of having your own Facebook Group:

  1. You’re automatically seen as the Expert by your Group Members as the Host of the Group
  2. You can build a community of like-minded people
  3. You can fill the Group with your Ideal Clients so you have a ready made audience to sell to
  4. You run the show and are in control of what gets posted
  5. You can build your authority and share your expertise
  6. You have increased exposure to your audience
  7. You create a safe, enjoyable place where your audience wants to hang out online
  8. You can build better relationships with your audience
  9. You build the ‘like, know & trust’ factor so your audience are more likely to buy from you

What Content Should I Share In My Facebook Group?

Your Group is where your Ideal Clients are hanging out, right?

It’s where you get to interact, engage, ask questions, have fun, share your expertise & sell your products & services.

Content for your Group should reflect this!

One of the easiest ways to find out what content to create for your group members, is to have this as one of the questions when a new member is requesting to join your group.

Here’s what that looks like for the Female Coaches Lounge:

There are many different ways you can ask this question, here are a few more examples for you…

  • What do you need the most help with when it comes to [YOUR MAIN AREA OF EXPERTISE]
  • What’s one thing you’d like to improve in your business this month?
  • What’s your biggest struggle with [A SPECIFIC TOPIC YOU CAN HELP WITH]
  • How can I help you the most inside the group?
  • What is limiting your business growth right now?

It’s also a good idea to change this question every now and then so you can test what gets more answers as well as create content that is really specific to your business, offers and services.

Always remember that your Facebook Group is where you get to connect on a deeper level with your audience, so keep your posts engaging, entertaining, educate your audience and entice them to buy!

As a general rule, share the same content as you post on your Facebook Page and MORE!

So now we’ve covered Pages & Groups, let’s dive into what content to share on your Facebook Personal Profile to connect with your perfect audience!

What Content To Share On Your Facebook Personal Profile As A Business Owner

There’s no denying it, your Facebook Personal Profile is one of the most debated and controversial areas of Facebook when it comes to your business and building your brand on social media.

It’s a massive grey area which Facebook seems to be avoiding clearing up at all costs.

There are stories of people being banned from Facebook and kicked off forever for selling on their Personal Profile - and then there are many people who say they have never heard of a single person this has happened to.

As I said.  It’s grey, murky and all very confusing.

There is one rule that you must follow though, so you don’t get on the wrong side of Facebook:

Do NOT use your Personal Profile AS A BUSINESS.

For instance, don’t name your Profile ‘Lesley Notton, Business Coach’ and sell directly from your Profile.

But it doesn’t mean that you can’t talk about your business, share posts from your Page or talk about what's happening in your business on your Profile.

As a general rule of thumb, if you’re sharing experiences, case studies, events, free gifts (aka your Lead Magnet), inviting people to join your group, testimonials, thoughts & opinions… all these things seem to be fine.

Your Facebook Personal Profile is a massively important part of your online brand and used in the correct way, can easily help you to funnel people into your group, visit your website & blog and make sales.

I hope that’s given you lots of ideas and a big scoop of clarity as to what content you can share on Facebook and 3 of the most important parts of the Facebook ecosystem that will help you to build and grow your online business.
